This crochet shawl had to be a symbol of love. I participated in Hobbii’s #MyFavoriteHobbiiFriends challenge and I wanted to this shawl to be inclusive. For that reason exactly l chose to work with these rainbow (with a twist) colours. After all they represent togetherness!
The rainbow flag is also the symbol of the LGBT pride and that pride has my full support. I’m so excited Amsterdam will host World Pride 2026.
Even in Amsterdam though it’s still necessary to speak out on this subject. Discrimination and violence against my FRIENDS is still going on. This is unacceptable. So, I’ve made this shawl with them in mind.
Crochet shawl
You’ll start the La la love you crochet shawl with a magic ring and will form two sides increasing on both sides until you’re ready to make the border. This way you can let the triangle grow as big as you like. The measurements of my finished shawl are 164 x 80 cm. The border consists of three layers of lovely shell stitches.
The pattern is suitable for even an absolute beginner. I’ve made a photo tutorial to make it even easier and remember YouTube and Google are your friends. You will have some ends to weave in though!
I chose to change colour every row, but you can easily change the look of this scarf by playing with colours. What about making a unicoloured one? I included my colour scheme in the pattern!

Hobbii Friends Extra Fine Merino
Apart from being the softest merino wool ever, this merino has a big plus, it’s machine washable at 30°C (cold wash), making it extra easy to take care of!
Merino wool is a great fiber to keep you warm, helps with regulating your body temperature during wintertime, and is completely itch-free. This means, of course, that it can be also worn by people with sensitive skin, including children. Mmm, maybe I should make the Leah cowl with this yarn, I’ve got some leftovers!
